We're leaving the blanket bog behind us on this hike and instead exploring the forests, rivers and jagged glacier landscape of Sliabh Beagh.
This guided hike is suitable for anyone who loves the outdoors! A good level of fitness, however, is required on this hike due to the variation and unevenness of the terrain. It takes place on March 11, 2023
The terrain is a mixture of gravel paths, forestry tracks and moorland (all of which can be quite uneven under foot).
Waterproof hiking boots are essential! We also recommend bringing a waterproof jacket and trousers, and a hat and gloves. It’s better to be prepared for all weather eventualities.
You should bring a rucksack with sufficient supplies for the duration of the hike – water, snacks, sandwiches, hot drinks, etc. There will be a scheduled picnic stop during the hike. You should also pack additional clothing layers, just in case!
Registration takes place at our premises in Knockatallon Village (adjacent to the Sliabh Beagh Hotel) between 8:30-8:45am. We will then drive 15 minutes to the trailhead (leaving our centre at 8:45am sharp). We can arrange to carpool that morning.
The hike will commence at 9am from the trailhead.
Tickets for this guided hike are priced at €25 plus booking fee are are available to purchase on Eventbrite.Book on Eventbrite
We reserve the right to cancel this event should weather conditions be unfavourable or unsafe. If this happens, a full refund of the ticket price will be issued.
